A Croc in the World October 2007

This is very overdue. I should have posted these in about November. But being me, I am a little late! Flower is a DIS boards croc. She is passed from family to family and makes trips to the Disney parks. If you are not a DISer, please bear with us and enjoy the pics. If you are a DISer, I am sorry I am such a slowpoke.

We picked up Flower from the desk at SSR, where Jason had left her for me. We almost had an incident, as they could not find her at first. Somehow, her box ended up in the Fed Ex pickup pile. But the great ladies at SSR searched until they found her. They rock!

Johnnie and Flower do a dance to celebrate!

Riding the Mickey bus!

We took the monorail over to the Poly. We reminded Flower to "Please stand clear of the doors!"

Flower helps Gainey pick some pressed pennies while we wait for our table at O'Hana:

Waiting, waiting, waiting......

Yay!! Our turn!

Flower enjoys the Pineapple Bread. YUM!

One of many rides on Small World (note DH's look of joy):

Riding the People Mover. Not the TTA. The PEOPLE MOVER. =oD Mr. Morrow, Mr. Tom Morrow, your party has arrived from Saturn.....

Johnnie and Flower taking a break in Adventureland.

Time for the Barnstormer!

There it is Flower, the famous Haunted Mansion!!! (insert dog howl here)

Patiently awaiting Spectromagic, our favorite parade:

Flower and Johnnie enjoy a yummy breakfast at Crystal Palace.
A group shot near the Tusker House:

Waiting patiently for the bird show to begin at AK:

We get ready to go on the Safari and see some crocodiles!!! But they were not out that day. Poor Flower.

Flower checks on where she wants to go next:

Flower had a picture with a long-forgotten ancestor. Or maybe not, I am not all that knowledgeable about the dinosaurs.

Johnnie decided to get in on the act:

Of course, we had to ride Small World again. Flower was on that many, many times. If we scarred her in any way, we apologize.

Well, that is our picture montage. I did have some more, but I had my camera set on "bad picture, but battery saving" mode, so they came out too dark or just bad. Fortunately, we will have Flower again in May, and I promise to make sure I have the camera set correctly!

Buffalo sucks and I work too much.

So anyway, it is freezing here. It snowed on the first day of spring. Isn't that nice??

I ended up taking the job at the hospital. I have been training and will be training for the next month plus, since they are cross training me for 3 departments. Needless to say, I am doing 40 hours at my full time job and 25-30 training. Per week.

I am normally a pretty mellow person. Working 75-80 hours a week makes me a bitch. Just a little FYI. My blog posts, if I even get to make any, may be a bit on the rant and rave crabby asshole side until about the end of May.

One bright spot: VACATION!!! We leave May 4th for a week, so I do have a break in there. I won't think about the fact that I am taking the laptop and possibly a few hours at job #1 with me. Of course, I take it every time and usually end up not doing any hours. So I am not completely insane.

I am going to make a feeble attempt to start a pre-trip/trip report on here to let you all share in the joy of getting ready to take everyone to Florida while working like a dog.

Our May trip is going to be me, John, Gainey, Johnnie, and my mother. Tom is on the fence, since he brought me home a lovely 21 in English. And not because he is bad at it, but because he would rather do anything other than homework. If his report card is better, he goes. Otherwise, he stays here with his dad and waits until October to vacation, since I can't pull the kid out of school when he has a 21. Ugh.

We are hoping that he steps up, though and gets his work made up and his grade up. He is really good with the little ones and we really like to hang out with him. He is a great kid...I am biased, of course, but he truly is.

Court has decided to give living with her dad a try. I okayed this experiment against my better judgement, because they both wanted it and Jerry IS her dad and he is a good dad, so he deserves a chance.

So she is not attending the May trip this year. She IS, however, going in October, even if I have to drag her ass there. LoL

As we progress over the next 40-ish days, I will make every attempt to entertain you all with a pre-trip/new job report. Then I will try to do a "live" trip report from Disney, as I will have the laptop with me. Get ready...I am sure it will be gripping.

And lastly...my strange story for the day:
I had a call on my cell phone from work (the transcription company I work for). I listened to my VM to see what the hell they wanted. It was someone I don't know, asking for a lady named Nancy. But it was MY employer. I just thought it was quite a coincidence that they called the cell phone of an employee looking for someone else. Especially since corporate is in New Jersey.

Now time to finish working job #1 and get to bed so I can get up, go to job #2, come home, and work job #1 again!!!

I am off Wednesday. Lucky for me, Courtney dropped off her laundry so I won't get bored.

So I am going to upload some more pictures to MySpace...

...and I have noticed that I don't have very many of ME. I went through 2 discs worth and there are like 4 pictures of me. Why? I take them all.

It was like that with my Dad. We really don't have many pictures of him. Most of the ones I do have were taken by me as a teen and when Courtney was a baby.

So I have a new mission. To be in more pictures, even though I HATE having my picture taken.

We will see if that mission goes better than the blog thing. hehe

Lenscrafters has my number.

So, Tom and I went for eye exams last week sometime. He needs glasses and I would fall over an SUV without my lenses. We go, we get examined. I have the worst eyesight of anyone I know, so I had to get the whole retinal photo/dilation thing. I also wear contacts on occasion, so I had to get fitted for new ones. At the end of the day, I ended up spending $314 and I didn't leave with anything but an exam. Tom has glasses ordered.

Before we left, though, they tell me about ordering contacts, which I am have to do. My contacts are $40 a box (you need 2 boxes minimum, one for each eye). This is considered 3 months worth. So then they tell me I can get a year's worth for $279, with a $60 mail-in rebate. So $219 for 8 boxes total (4 for each eye). That is $27 a box! How in the hell can I pass that up? Of course, I wear contacts when we are in Florida and then approximately 3 days a year otherwise. So for me, 8 boxes will last me until Gainey graduates from high school.

So now I am thinking, screw them. I will order from our insurance at $29 a box and just get 1/2 of those. But they reeled me in with the deal, dammit. I think they smelled the fact that there was no way in hell I would spend $80 for 2 measly boxes when they dangled that "for only $140 more, you get 6 more boxes!"

Ugh. But since my insurance will sell them to me for only $29, I am going with that.

This is a horrible post. I will try to get something better up here later. This is why I don't post during the day usually. It never goes well.

Miss Spider: Kind adoptive mom or raising future food?

I am so sick of Noggin I could gouge out my own eyes. I won't get all into it, but I have a few comments:
1. I find it deeply disturbing that Miss Spider is raising bugs as her children that spiders normally eat. They show her saving seeds for the winter. Yeah, right. She is going to fatten up those kids and eat them. I know it.
2. Little Bill is annoying. That's it.
3. Yo Gabba Gabba scares the hell out of me. And that big reddish brown thing with the nubs on it. That is a dildo, isn't it? If not, it sure looks like one. And if it looks like a duck and walks like a duck, well.....
4. I want to punch Dora. I don't know why, but I do. I guess that tells you a lot about my personality.
5. Wonder Pets. Why do they have a duck that talks with a speech impediment?? I am trying to teach my kids to NOT say things like "Twadgedy." It is TRadgedy. Damnit. Someone get that Ming Ming to a speech therapist. That is probably who sponsors the show. The Speech Therapists' Association. They were running short of clients.
6. Oobi. Someone decided to make a show. They could not afford puppets, so they just glued eyes to their hands. It is freaky. My son loves it. Me....Oobi.....lame.
7. Max and Ruby. This one is cute and funny. BUT. Where the hell are their parents? Are they dead? Are they drug addicts who leave the kids to go on crack runs? Ruby should be nicer to Max. And Louise is kind of a bitch.
8. Oswald. Octopus. Lives upstairs from a Penguin, who is voiced by Squiggy from Laverne and Shirley. Oswald has a dog named Weenie, who is a hot dog. Best line EVER: "Henry, I am going to take Weenie to the park to play." I hope Big City does not have a vice squad or Oswald is going to need bail.
Anyway, that is my Noggin rant. I am sure people disagree with me, but seriously, I can only take so much of it.

So, I managed to get back to the blog. Hooray! I am sure the 1 person who reads this is giddy with excitement.

I have a cough. Not a normal cough. A "Oh crap, I am going to turn blue and die before I can breathe in again" kind of cough. I had a cold last week. It went away. Today, I started hacking up a kidney. If I don't break a rib coughing tonight, I think I may venture to the doctor tomorrow.

Speaking of doctors, since I work about 28 of 40 hours on the weekend, Sunday night is the perfect time to bitch a little about work. A couple notes for the doctors: It is not necessary, Dr. whoever, to say "otherwise" at the beginning of every sentence. If you keep doing it, I will start typing every "otherwise" you utter and your medical reports will make you look like the idiot you are. It takes time out of my day listening to 145 "otherwises" and frankly, it is an annoying habit. STOP IT. Also, Dr. suchandsuch, don't spell things unless you KNOW how to spell them. You spell medications wrong all the time and it makes me thankful that you do not practice in my city. And lastly for tonight, Dr. anywho, you do know how to spell. However, I find it somewhat insulting when you dictate 26 letter words and do not spell them out, but then proceed to spell things like "heart block" for me. I am not an idiot. If I know how to spell esophagogastroduodenoscopy, I also know how to spell BLOCK. ---eye roll--- Oh, and I know I said that was the last, but for both doctors, and anyone else who spends a lot of time on the phone with people: Chewing is a nasty, nasty sound over the phone. So is snorting snot up into your nose. Hit pause or mute when you do those things. Cuz all I am thinking is "ewww what a skank."

So that is my complaint post for the night. I was going to make this a marathon post, but I have a hankering to play pogo and watch law and order reruns. I love that show. Criminal Intent is my favorite, but I also like the original. Jesse L. Martin is on there and I am a huge fan of his. He and I were in a musical together when I was about 13. Great guy. When he first joined the cast, I kept saying he looked so familiar to me, but I just could not place him. Then, he finally grinned on an episode and BAM. That smile. I am so happy to see that he is successful. He truly deserves it. He was a great guy back then. My father even liked him and he hated almost every teenage male I spoke to.

CI is on tonight and I have some Vincent D'Onofrio worshipping to do. TTFN!

Worst.....blogger.....ever!

Yup, that's me!! Okay, so I pawned everyone off on Robin(Delswife) and slacked off for 2...3 weeks. It's a free internet!

I have been pretty busy. I am in the process of searching for another job. Right now the prospects include Southwest Airlines (I really want this job) and doing the unit secretary thing per diem for one of the hospitals. I didn't think I would be too jazzed about the hospital, but I met the bosses today and they are great. I think I would really like it there.

I also applied for a position with the feds, but it could be years before I hear from them.

So, I decided I was sick of being a hermit and have ventured out into the world. I am keeping my current job, since I do love it, even though I bitch and moan about it all the time.

I also had a mini-sob fest. The school sent the paperwork for Gainey to start kindergarten. I am just not ready.

Anyway, just a short, ramble post tonight. I have work to do. I will try to get back on this weekend and tell you why I need a lawyer, a rug cleaner, and an ankle monitoring bracelet.

Toodles!

Use the link over yonder, you will be a happier person for it.

I am not the type to advertise as a rule. But there is some funny shit going on and if you have sat through my crap on this blog, I think you deserve some actual entertainment. Over on the right side there I have a link to a blog. The blog is posted by Delswife. She and her husband, Del, are moving to Florida. They need gas money. She is selling stuff on Ebay. The auctions will make you laugh your ass off.

Go visit her blog. There are links to her auctions. Click, read, die laughing and maybe even buy something.

PS- I seriously considered purchasing the Tony Stewart bobblehead. But frankly, the thing gives me the willies.

Enjoy!!!
